Fall baseball

The newly formed CSRA Youth Baseball League is a fall competitive league. It is for players ages 7-18. Each team will play on Tuesdays and Thursdays through early November. Softball tryout

The Georgia Rockers will hold tryouts for their 12U and 14U fast-pitch travel team at 2 p.m. today at Patriots Park. The Rockers are seeking players who would like to increase their softball skills, talent and level of play. Fishing tourney

Volunteers, boaters and donations are being sought for the second annual Take Our Troops Fishing event, to be held Oct. 25-26 at Wildwood Park in Appling. The event is sponsored by the Columbia County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Community Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. Turkey shoot
