Michael Blache, of Grovetown, received an associate of science in information technology degree from South University-Savannah in spring 2008.
Virginia Military Institute degree
Peter J. Borchelt, of Evans, received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Military Institute, was a distinguished graduate and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He is a graduate of Evans High School and is the son of Joel and Debra Borchelt of Evans. While at VMI, he was on the Dean's List, received academic stars, was a member of Tau Beta Phi, Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, VMI Honor Court and was on the swim team. He will attend pilot training in the Air Force.
Lee University spring Dean's List
Sarah Ussery , of Kailua Kona, Hawaii was named to the Dean's List with Honors at Lee University for the spring 2008 semester. Ussery is the granddaughter of Wen and Bev Ussery of Martinez.
Ty Cobb scholarship
Denise Gamble of Evans has been awarded a scholarship by the Ty Cobb Educational Foundation. The student is among the 224 Georgia residents who received $524,000 in scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year. Gamble is studying for a biology degree at Georgia Southern University.
Wingate University President's List
The following local students have been named to the President's List at Wingate University during the spring 2008 semester: Mary Elizabeth Green of Martinez, daughter of Donnie Green of Augusta; Nicole Elizabeth Moody of Grovetown, daughter of Ron and LaCinda Moody of Augusta; Rebekah Anne Moody of Grovetown, daughter of Ron and LaCinda Moody of Augusta.
