Greenbrier High School drama students will portray Lucy, Snoopy and Charlie Brown in a musical production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Based on the long-running comic strip Peanuts by Charles Schulz, the musical comedy is the Pack Players' annual summer play. The director is senior Blake Clendenin.

The play is a way for the students to get together and have fun doing something positive on their summer vacation, said Steve Hansen, Greenbrier's drama director. He anticipates large crowds for this performance.

"We're expecting good representation of our parents, students, and our school," Hansen said.

Charlie Brown is a series of short scenes that come directly from the comic strip, including Charlie and his friends playing baseball and Charlie anxiously waiting by his mailbox for a Valentine's Day card.

"Many of the themes are the same as those in the comic strip," Hansen said. "One of the themes the play deals with is the anxiety of growing up."

The play will be performed at 7 p.m. nightly. Tickets cost $5 for students and $8 for adults. For reservations, contact Steve Hansen at (706) 799-5849.
