'Biggest untruth' is that rescue groups have a financial motive
I have unfortunately learned over my many years that newspapers are chock full of semi-truths and untruths. This is the case in this column, which takes the word of one commissioner and runs with it without meaningfully seeking the truth.

Mercer's accusations that animal rescue volunteers do what they do because they realize financial benefits is utterly laughable. It definitively shows his ignorance about such things along with giving us a little more insight into his own character.

ACS football team helps Cancer Society
The Augusta Christian School football team recently held its annual Football Border Bash for the American Cancer Society at Pride Valley. Four teams, including Augusta Christian, participated in this pre-season scrimmage and raised $2,000 to help the organization. This is the fourth year that ACS was host to this fundraiser.
