The sounds of music will drift from the Columbia County Amphitheater each Thursday for the next four weeks.
//
Savage Lucy will kick off the Sunset Music Series Thursday, followed by The Groove Masters on Aug. 28, Split Rail on Sept. 4 and Braggn' Hughes on Sept. 11. Each show begins at 7 p.m. and is free to attend.
"It's all different genres of music," said Liz Stockstill, the county's community events specialist.
The music will include, but is not limited to, bluegrass and country, she said, adding that some of the bands will play cover songs.
"Last year was the first year of the Sunset Music Series," Stockstill said. "We had a really good turnout, so we're hoping it will be as good or better this year."
Stockstill described the event's atmosphere as "laid-back."
"People should just come out if they want to relax in a great atmosphere, listen to some great music and enjoy the outdoors," she said.
She encourages people to bring picnics, blankets and their own chairs.
"Concessions will be available, but people are welcome to bring their own picnics and dinners out there to the amphitheater," she said.
