More 'nature' would be available if park had proper oversight

The recent news about the expansion of Reed Creek Park presents an opportunity to bring to the attention of the public the issue of both its development and maintenance.

By the time this letter appears in print I shall have provided an expanded constructive critique originally voiced to both the commissioners and staff. The recent News-Times story refers to the matter of building more boardwalks "closer to the ground... so that you'll be more in touch with nature," yet through current management much of the nature there has been seriously malaffected.

At least two years ago I argued for an advisory group of knowledgeable, interested citizens who could have materially helped guide the county. It has yet to be established.
