Crafters needed

Plastic recycling

A drop-off container for plastics recycling is now available at the Columbia County Government Complex. Telephone book recycling bins also are available until Aug. 31.

Mammography

The Columbia County Health Department will play host to the Breast Health Center Mobile Mammography Unit at the Evans Health Department on Monday, and on Oct. 20 and Dec. 15. Appointments are required by calling (706) 868-3330.

Writers meet

CSRA Writers will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 1336 Augusta West Parkway. Writers needing a support group are invited to attend and bring eight copies of a manuscript to be critiqued. For information, call Steve Fox at (706) 836-7315.

School supplies

Washington Commons retirement community, in conjunction with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, is accepting donations of cash, gift cards or school supplies for underprivileged children.
