Baseball league

The newly formed CSRA Youth Baseball League is a fall competitive youth baseball league. The league is for players ages 7-18. Each team will play on Tuesdays and Thursdays from mid-September until early November. Full teams can enter or individuals can be placed on a team from their area. An organizational meeting will be held at 2 p.m. today at Citizens Park in Aiken. Any coaches or others who want to help with the organization are encouraged to attend. Softball tryouts
Greenbrier High School will hold softball tryouts Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Greenbrier softball field. Participants must have a physical and proof of insurance. For information, call Garrett Black at (706) 564-9653.
Team reunion

Rowing classes

Golf tournaments
The Augusta City Junior Championship will be held Aug 9-10 at Forest Hills Golf Club. The 36-hole medal play tournament, which will have both boys and girls divisions, is limited to the first 90 entries ages 10-18. Ages 10-11 will play nine holes each day. Ages 12-18 will play 18 holes each day. Entry fee is $60 and includes practice round and lunch each day. For information, call the pro shop at (706)-733-0001.
Charity game
The 14th annual Jawbones vs. Sawbones (lawyers vs. doctors) basketball game will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Augusta Christian School gym. It is sponsored by the Richmond County Medical Society and the Augusta Bar Association, and benefits Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Services. Tickets cost $5 at the door. Baseball camp
Pride Baseball will hold its "post-summer" baseball camp Thursday-Saturday at Patriots Park. The camp will be taught by collegiate signees from the University of South Carolina, Augusta State and Middle Georgia. Cost is $85. For registration or information, call Adrian McCladdie at (706) 288-8511.
Conditioning camp
Columbia County Recreation Department volunteer coach Jim Siple is holding his fifth annual summer workout for students ages 10 and older preparing for fall sports.
