Team reunion

Rowing classes

The Augusta Rowing Club will conduct adult Learn To Row classes Aug. 19 and Sept. 16. The cost of the class is $80. For information, go to www.augustarowingclub.org or call David Young at (803) 279-6302.

Golf tournaments

- The Lyndsie Beggs Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 2 at Forest Hills Golf Club. Cost is $75 per player and includes green and cart fees, lunch and prizes. Deadline to register is Thursday. Augusta native Lyndsie Beggs was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age 19 and had surgery to remove the tumor. After less than two years, the cancer returned and she is undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Proceeds from the tournament will help pay her medical costs. - The Augusta City Junior Championship will be held August 9-10 at Forest Hills Golf Club. The 36-hole medal play tournament, which will have both boys and girls divisions, is limited to the first 90 entries ages 10-18. Ages 10-11 will play nine holes each day. Ages 12-18 will play 18 holes each day. Entry fee is $60 and includes practice round and lunch each day. For information, call the pro shop at (706)-733-0001.

Boat safety class

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a boating safety course from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Thurmond Dam Visitors Center. The course costs $35 for individuals, $50 for families, and satisfies the requirement for Georgia and South Carolina boating education. Charity game

The 14th annual Jawbones vs. Sawbones (lawyers vs. doctors) basketball game will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Augusta Christian School gym. Sponsored by the Richmond County Medical Society and the Augusta Bar Association, and benefits Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Services. Tickets cost $5 at the door.
