A millage rollback hearing initially scheduled for July 15 has been postponed to July 23 by Columbia County officials.
//
State law mandates three such hearings when tax-collecting bodies don't lower the millage to offset an increase in revenue from property reassessments. Two hearings were held Tuesday.
The third hearing will be held at 8:30 a.m., followed by a special called commission meeting at 9 a.m. in the auditorium of the Evans Government Complex at 630 Ronald Reagan Drive.
The Columbia County Board of Education will hold a fourth and final hearing later this month.
It is being scheduled because a quorum did not attend a June 30 hearing. Only two of the five board members were present.
