The Lydia Project, a women's cancer support organization, will hold a fundraising barbecue lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 12 at Earth Fare, 368 Furys Ferry Road, Martinez, and a wine, cheese and chocolate tasting from 5-8 p.m. July 18. For information, call (706) 736-5467.

Foster training

Mammography

The Columbia County Health Department will play host to the Breast Health Center Mobile Mammography Unit at the Evans Health Department on Aug. 18, Oct. 20 and Dec. 15. For appointments, call (706) 868-3330.

Directory recycling

Keep Columbia County Beautiful and Waste Management have set up recycling bins for telephone books at the Government Complex in Evans, and at Martinez-Columbia Fire Rescue headquarters and stations on Furys Ferry Road, Oakley-Pirkle Road and William Few Parkway. The bins are available until Aug. 31.
