Harbin made mistake; electing Benedict 'would be a bigger one'

Editor,

After careful analysis of Georgia House District 118 candidates Ben Harbin and Lee Benedict, it is my opinion that we all need to stand behind Harbin.

Harbin is the CSRA's main link to power in Atlanta. He is chairman of the House Appropriations Committee and manages a state budget that exceeds $21 billion.

His opponent can't seem to manage his own household budget. My research shows judgments and garnishments against him totaling more than $33,000:

- New York Case No. 155793, judgment $1,527;

- Georgia Case No. 2007CV1244, judgment $18,119 plus interest;

- Georgia Case No. 2005 RCSC1092, judgment $10,542; and,

- Georgia Case No. 2006 RCSC2509, garnishment $3,000.33.

There is another judgment for $20,313.77 that might or might not directly include him (State Court of Columbia County, Civil Action File No. 2006CV0908). The Certificate of Service on this case lists the address of the home Benedict rents as where the judgment was served.

Last May, Ben Harbin made a mistake. If you vote for Lee Benedict on July 15, in my opinion, you'll be making a bigger one.
