Academy honors

Scott Hartenstein , a 2006 graduate of Evans High School and son of Kim and Fred Hartenstein, has made the Dean's List along with the Commandant and Athletic Lists for the spring semester at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Being named to these three lists puts Hartenstein on the Superintendent's List. After graduating from the academy he is now a cadet second class (junior).
Basic training grads
Army Pfc. Carlo J. Masaracchia II has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. Masaracchia is the son of Tina Masaracchia, of Evans, and is a 2007 graduate of Evans High School.
Army Pvt. Rhett T. Bohling has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. Bohling is a 2006 graduate of Evans High School.
Army National Guard Pvt. Joshua S. Bozeman has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. He is the son of Ray Bozeman, of Grovetown, and is a 2000 graduate of Harlem High School.
Army Reserve Pfc. Thomas E. Robinson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Aundrea Robinson, of Martinez, and is a 2007 graduate of Lakeside High School.
Enlistments
Christian A. Houk , son of Fanny V. Houk-Quintero, of Martinez, and Howard M. Houk, of Port Richey, Fla., recently enlisted in the Navy under the Delayed Entry Program at Navy Recruiting District Miami, Sunrise, Fla. Houk will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.
Micheal J. Wirtz , son of Karmen M. Osborne, of Grovetown, and Kenneth J. Wirtz Jr., of Pedro, Ohio, recently enlisted in the Marine Corps under the Delayed Entry Program with the Marine Corps Recruiting Station in Columbia.
Civilian Brittney M. Montgomery , daughter of Wendy L. Arthur, of Martinez, recently enlisted in the Navy under the Delayed Entry Program at Navy Recruiting District, Raleigh, N.C. Montgomery will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.
