The Aiken Tech fast-pitch softball program is just 4 years old, but already it has reeled off back-to-back 30-win seasons. One of the keys to the program's early success has been the decision to recruit in Columbia County.

The Knights won a school-record 37 games in 2007. Former Greenbrier standout Kayla Adams helped to lead the way, earning second-team all-region honors.
Also, Evans product Brittani Turner was named to the Region 10 All-Tournament team. That duo, along with former Greenbrier star pitcher Austin Long, were back in 2008 to spearhead another great year for the Lady Knights. The 2008 edition at Aiken Tech posted a 33-15 record and proved to be one of the top junior college teams in South Carolina.
Adams was outstanding. The speedy outfielder led Aiken Tech with a .417 batting average. She also had 13 doubles, two triples, 26 RBI and 29 runs scored.
Meanwhile, Long was second on the team with 13 wins. She went 13-5 with a 4.17 ERA in 115.2 innings.
And Turner, a starting infielder, hit .257 with six doubles and 24 runs scored.
Congratulations to these three talented young ladies.
