Summer program

The Columbia County Foundation for Children is holding a summer community service program for students of high-school age willing to complete a minimum of 10 hours through Aug. 8. Movie series

MCGHealth Children's Medical Center's Movies Under the Stars series will continue Saturday at the Columbia County amphitheater in Evans with The Water Horse , and Shrek the Third , June 28. Directory recycling

Keep Columbia County Beautiful and Waste Management have set up recycling bins for telephone books at the Government Complex in Evans, and at Martinez-Columbia Fire Rescue headquarters and stations on Furys Ferry Road, Oakley-Pirkle Road and William Few Parkway. The bins are available until Aug. 31.

Air Force ball

The 31st Intelligence Squadron of the U.S. Air Force at Fort Gordon is seeking donations to support the annual Air Force Ball to be held Sept. 27 at the Doubletree Hotel in Augusta. For information, call MSgt. Michele Daley at (706) 791-9577.

Archaeology camp

Boating safety
