Army Pvt. Stephen E. Morgan Jr. has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Morgan is the son of Stephen E. and Sheri P. Morgan, of Appling, and a 2007 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

Army Staff Sgt. Kevin P. Johnson is a member of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, who has deployed to Camp Taji, Iraq. Johnson, a network switching systems operator/maintainer and platoon sergeant, has served in the military for more than 11 years. His wife, F. Kim, is the daughter of Nyoka Wall, of Martinez.

Julian P. Quattlebaum III , son of Deanna M. Custer, of Evans, and Julian P. Quattlebaum II, of Hephzibah, recently enlisted in the Marine Corps under the delayed entry program with Marine Corps Recruiting Station, Columbia. Quattlebaum will report to Recruit Depot for active duty to undergo basic training in Parris Island, S. C. or San Diego, Calif. He is a 2007 graduate of Evans High School.

Robert L. Henry IV , son of Robert L. Henry III, of Martinez, recently enlisted in the Marine Corps under the delayed entry program with Marine Corps Recruiting Station, Columbia. Henry will report to Recruit Depot for active duty to undergo basic training in Parris Island, S.C., or San Diego.

Navy Seaman Recruit Ashley M. Williams , daughter of Betty J. Strickland, of Newport News, Va., and Richard A. Williams Sr., of Martinez, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Army Pvt. Brittanie A. Grammar has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. She is the daughter of Mary Pileggi, of Appling, and Jerry Smith, of Glasgow, Ky. Grammar is a 2004 graduate of Evans High School.

Navy Seaman Recruits Marcus S. Solomon , son of Brenda M. Dickens, of Battleboro, N.C., and Gerald Solomon, of Martinez; and Ashley M. Williams, daughter of Betty J. Strickland, of Newport News, Va., and Richard A. Williams Sr., of Martinez, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
