Parked car window hit with airgun ammo

A Martinez man called police early Monday and reported he had heard shots.

He said he was awakened about 1:15 a.m. by cracking noises coming from the front of his Old Trail Road home. When he looked out the bedroom window, he saw a four-door sedan speed off from his driveway.

He checked on his car parked in the driveway and found that the back window had been damaged.

The glass had impact areas from what appeared to be BBs or airgun pellets.

Church equipment is vandalized, damaged

Police were called to a Martinez church Tuesday after someone discovered damage and vandalism on the grounds.

A representative of the Central Church of Christ, 3650 Old Petersburg Road, told police that between May 21 and Saturday someone cut down a volleyball net and broke several bricks behind the church. The portable basketball goals had been moved to the center of the parking lot and tied together.

Caller threatens life of Evans resident's son

An Evans man told police Tuesday that someone called and threatened to kill his son.

The 48-year-old man said the call came from a private number about 8:15 p.m. May 22. His daughter answered and told the caller her brother did not live there.

She said the caller said her brother had better watch his back because he is going to die. She hung up the phone.

A call from another private number came into the home a few minutes later, but no one answered it.
