Time: 4 p.m. (Friday), 1 p.m. (Saturday).

How the Bulldogs got here: Harlem beat Cross Creek in the last game of the regular season to jump into the Region 3-AAA championship game. There, the Bulldogs throttled South Effingham 10-5 to claim their first region title since 2001. Coach Jimmie Lewis' team finished with only one region loss.

AAAA, First Round

Who: Greenbrier (3-AAAA) vs. Americus-Sumter (1-AAAA).

Where: Greenbrier High School

Date: Friday (doubleheader). Saturday, if necessary.

How the Wolfpack got here: Greenbrier used a healthy dose of Nolan Belcher to work its way through the Region 3-AAAA tournament and claim the region's top seed.

The Wolfpack beat Ware County in the opening round in a series that went three games. Belcher pitched a perfect five-inning game to open the series and closed the third game by pitching the final four innings. He also closed a win against Effingham County and pitched a complete game to beat Statesboro as the Wolfpack claimed their third consecutive region title.

Who: Evans (Region 3-AAAA) at Lee County (Region 1-AAAA)

Where: Lee County High School

Date: Friday, (doubleheader). Saturday, if necessary.

How the Knights got here: Evans started postseason play strong, sweeping a doubleheader with Glynn Academy to advance in the Region 3-AAAA playoffs. But the Knights ran into Statesboro's ace and lost 5-0 to the Blue Devils. They then fell to Effingham County to fall to the region's fourth seed.
