The office of U.S. Rep. Paul Broun is accepting entries for an annual art competition that is sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives.
The nationwide contest, An Artistic Discovery, is open to students in grades nine through 12.
The artwork of the overall winner in each congressional district will be displayed for a year in the Cannon Tunnel that leads to the U.S. Capitol.
All entries must be original in concept, design and execution.
Categories include paintings, drawings, prints, collage, mixed media, computer-generated art and photography.
The pieces must be two-dimensional and can be no larger than 30 inches by 30 inches to the outside of the frame.
More than 650,000 high-school students have participated in the nationwide contest, which started in 1982.
Competition guidelines and a student release form are available at www.house.gov/house/ArtGuidelines.shtml.
The release form and artwork must be delivered to Broun's Evans office at 4246 Washington Road, Suite 6, by 5 p.m. Monday.
Jessica Morris, Broun's spokeswoman, said the winner will be announced by May 12.
