Grovetown United Methodist Church's annual Chicken-Que and yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, 206 E. Robinson Ave. For information call (706) 863-6668.

Prayer services

- A community National Day of Prayer service will begin with a 7:30 a.m. breakfast Thursday at First Baptist Church of Evans, followed by a service from 8-8:45 a.m.

- State Rep. Barry Fleming will be guest speaker at a National Day of Prayer service at 1 p.m. Thursday at North Columbia Church, in the Eubank Blanchard Community Center in Appling. For information, call (706) 832-0986.

- The sanctuary of Christ Church, Presbyterian will be open for a prayers from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and will hold an Ascension Day service at 7 p.m. Call (706) 210-9090, or go to christchurchpres.org.

Gospel sing

The Kingsmen will be the featured performers at the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation's Gospel Sing at 7 p.m. Friday at Martinez Baptist Church. Tickets cost $10 at the door, and all proceeds support the foundation. For information, call (706) 736-1595.
