Sex solicitor steals from truck driver

A Valdosta, Ga., truck driver called police Sunday claiming he was robbed by a woman who'd offered him sex.

The 27-year-old man said that just after 5 a.m. Sunday, he was in his truck parked at Pilot Truck Stop at 4091 Jimmie Dyess Parkway near Interstate 20.

A woman came to the driver's door offering sex and when she left, he went inside the convenience store.

The man said he left the door unlocked and when he returned to the truck about 5:20 a.m., the woman jumped out, got into a white van and left.

The truck driver said the woman stole his shorts containing a wallet with credit, debit and Social Security cards and his driver's and Department of Transportation licenses.

The truck driver noted the tag number of the van, which was parked behind his tractor trailer. The woman left behind a pair of blue, fluffy bedroom slippers.

A McDonald's district manager told police Friday that someone used a $5 that was altered to look like a $50 at a Martinez McDonald's location.

Between 2:15 and 2:45 p.m. Thursday, two men used a $50 bill to pay for food at the restaurant at 381 Furys Ferry Road. When called by the cashier, the manager said she inspected the bill, which the cashier initially thought to be a $20 bill, and it appeared to be real.

On Friday, the manager received a call from a Regions Bank representative who said it was actually an altered $5 bill.

Intruder breaks into toddler's room

An Evans man called police early Sunday morning, saying someone attempted to break into his home through his toddler's bedroom window.

About 2:45 a.m., he heard a window in his 2-year-old son's room open and close. When he entered the room, his son was awake and pointed to the window saying, "window."

Police noted the screen was damaged and the window would no longer lock.

Soldier's motorcycle stolen from parking lot

A Fort Gordon soldier told police Saturday that someone stole his motorcycle between 1 a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday from in front of his apartment in Walden Glen Apartments in Evans.

The 2007 black and silver Honda CBR 1000, worth more than $11,000, was parked next to his truck.

He still has both keys, and the steering wheel was locked at the time it was taken.
