Churches hold Easter services

Easter conjures up memories of egg hunts, dinner with family and friends and early-morning church services. Many churches throughout Columbia County are continuing the tradition of special services on Easter morning.

Mosaic United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church of Evans are teaming up for a community sunrise service scheduled for 7 a.m. at the Columbia County Amphitheater.

The service will include music by Lori and Randall Newton and others from Mosaic, with a message delivered by First Baptist Rev. Steve Spencer

Other Easter morning services include:

An Easter sunrise service also will be held at 7 a.m. at Fort Gordon's Freedom Park on Rice Road. The guest speaker will the Chaplain Lt. Col. Phillip Conner, deputy chief of pastoral services at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Music will be provided by the Fort Gordon Navy Chorale.

In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to Alexander Hall on Chamberlain Avenue at 28th Street.
