Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church, at 703 Furys Ferry Road, in Evans, will hold a Black History Month Youth Sunday Explosion on Sunday, along with displays of African-American art and a church-family quilt during February. For information, call (706) 860-7091.

Furniture drive

A furniture drive for Augusta Urban Ministries will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Furniture in usable condition may be dropped off at Marvin United Methodist Church, on Wheeler and South Belair roads. Barbecue chicken dinners also will be available for $6.50 per plate. Proceeds will benefit Augusta Urban Ministries.

Master's Way Christian Church has moved its services to Augusta Christian Elementary School, 407 Furys Ferry Road.

Preschool walk

Reed Creek Park, in Martinez, will hold a free nature walk and craft project for preschoolers accompanied by an adult at 10 a.m. Thursday. For information, call (706) 210-4027.

The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service is conducting a "virtual tour of Georgia" walking program, with the Columbia County office providing prizes for top teams. Gang discussion

Marc Fomby, a nationally recognized speaker on youth issues, will discuss drugs, gangs and music at 6 p.m. today at Harlem United Methodist Church. Admission is free.
