Another Zaxby's restaurant opens Monday at 3029 William Few Parkway.

"We are honored to serve the residents of Evans," said George Duehring, who owns five area Zaxby's franchises with his wife, Rosemary. "We have received such great support from the community and are thrilled to provide another convenient location."

The restaurant, the third in the county, will operate from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Sushi lovers who also crave Southwestern cuisine can soon nurture both tastes at one location.

Takosushi owner Kevin Goldsmith intends to open a new location of his popular restaurant as part of a new shopping center on Town Park Lane off Belair Road in Evans.

"There's sort of been a public demand for it," he said. "I think it's a natural area to go in."

Goldsmith said the restaurant is under construction and he hopes to open it in April. Recently, he applied with the Columbia County Planning and Engineering Services Committee for a license to serve liquor, beer and wine.

The restaurant's menu will be the same as other Takosushi restaurants in Augusta, Aiken and Greenville, S.C.

"It's a full Southwestern menu and a full sushi menu," Goldsmith said. "It's my two favorite types of food."
