They are holding a yard sale Saturday to raise money to help Bel Air second-grader Bryce Canfield, who is undergoing treatment for embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma -- a soft tissue cancer that affects children.
Bryce was diagnosed in August and has been unable to attend classes this school year.
Debbie Callan, a first-grade teacher at Bel Air who is organizing the event, said the teachers are cleaning out their closets to bring in items to sell at a yard sale.
"I'm cleaning out every closet that I possibly can," she said.
Callan also said volunteers are helping by pricing items and setting up for the yard sale the night before.
"We've also got some businesses to donate things we can sell," said Callan.
In addition, she said, the Salvation Army is providing a trailer to haul off any items that are not sold.
This event is one of several fund-raisers that the school has held for Bryce.
The Student Council sponsored "Be a Fan for Bryce" on Tuesday. Pupils paid $1 to wear their favorite sports jersey and hat to support the second-grader.
The Student Council also sold sports keychains for $1 to raise money for Bryce's medical expenses.
