They said they were ready to return to Georgia for higher temperatures, but by the time they got home it was cold again.

Cub Scouts tour hospital
Cub Scout Bear Den with Pack 615, Evans, took a tour of the MCG Children's Emergency Room on Dec. 8. Dr. Jim Wilde gave the tour and the children delivered Christmas gifts to the hospital.

Pay coroner more money
If there is a place where people line up to seek raises for public officials, I won't be in it. But if there's a place to call for a raise for the Columbia County coroner, count me in.

Grovetown High name wasn't hasty
I hear continuing criticism about the Columbia County School Board choosing the name Grovetown High School for our newest school. I wanted to give my rationale for supporting this name.

Chamber celebrates success

The Evans High School Knights picked up a monster win Friday. Forget that they beat their archrival on the road, avenging a loss from two weeks ago. Also, forget that they proved to be king of the mountain in the county again this season.
