The Julie's House second annual golf tournament will be held March 12 at Bartram Trail Golf Club to raise money to provide shelter, goods and services to homeless women and their children. It costs $75 per person, or $200 per team, and includes greens fee, cart and lunch.

Rowing tryouts
Tryouts are available for the Augusta Junior Rowing Team spring season for ages 12-18. Practices are held from 4-6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the Boathouse in Augusta.

Umpires sought
The Augusta Baseball Umpires Association is recruiting umpires for the 2008 high school season. Umpiring experience is a plus. Classroom and field training will be provided. Meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. each Sunday in the Westside High School auditorium until the season opens.

Equine training
The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service in McDuffie County will hold a training program on master equine management at 7 p.m. Monday evenings Monday-March 3, with classes in Thomson and Warrenton. Tuition cots $50, with classes limited to 50 applicants.
