Golf tournament

The Julie's House second annual golf tournament will be held March 12 at Bartram Trail Golf Club to raise money to provide shelter, goods and services to homeless women and their children.

The cost is $75 per person, or $200 per team, and includes greens fee, cart and lunch. For information, call (706) 836-2781.

Soccer sign-ups

Registration for Columbia County Recreation Department soccer will be held through Jan. 25 for boys and girls ages 6-18, with an age-control date of Aug. 1.

Registration will be held at the Patriots Park administrative office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, or online at columbiacountyga.gov for previous players. Games will be played at Patriots Park during March-April.

Rowing tryouts

Tryouts are available for the Augusta Junior Rowing Team spring season for ages 12-18.

Practices are held from 4-6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the Boathouse in Augusta.

Umpires sought

The Augusta Baseball Umpires Association is recruiting umpires for the 2008 high school season. Umpiring experience is a plus. Classroom and field training will be provided.

Meetings will be held at 3:30 p.m. each Sunday in the Westside High School auditorium until the season opens.

Baseball clinic

A baseball preseason clinic will be held during the next several weeks for any 11- or 12-year-old players wanting to get ready for the upcoming baseball season. There is no cost to attend.
