Jazz series begins
Columbia County's "Sounds of Jazz" concert series will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday with a performance by Mood Indigo at the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center. South Columbia Elementary School, 325 McCormick Road, in Martinez, will hold a Family Health and Fitness Night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Participating businesses will have booths for all ages to demonstrate the health and fitness services that are available in the community. Admission is free.
Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins will be the guest speaker at 9 a.m. Saturday at Fatz Cafe at the Columbia County Republican Party breakfast. No reservations are required; breakfast costs $6.
