Sheriff to speak

Chamber meeting
The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting Jan. 28, with a business showcase and VIP reception at 4:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel. Tickets cost $50 for chamber members, $450 for corporate tables of eight and $60 each for nonmembers. Writers meet

Maj. Gen. Perry Smith, USAF retired, will be the speaker at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the meeting of the Maj. Gen. Ambrose Ransom Wright Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans in the private dining room of the Side Track Bar and Grill, 4027 Washington Road.
