Gospel sing

The Byrd Family and Bible Fellowship will hold a gospel sing at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Purvis Community School, on Georgia Highway 17 between Thomson and Wrens. For information, call (706) 651-1971.

Park workshops

Mistletoe State Park in Winfield, Ga., will hold two free workshops Feb. 9. A workshop on kudzu basket-making will be held at 10 a.m. at the group shelter. Participation is limited to the first 25 to register. A program on herbs and wild edibles will be held at 2 p.m. at the nature center. Call (706) 541-0321.

Harlem meeting

The Harlem City Council meeting scheduled for Jan. 21 has been moved to Thursday because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. A work session will begin at 6 p.m., with the City Council meeting to follow.

Evening in Ireland

Augusta's Ancient Order of Hibernians will hold an Evening in Ireland with Irish music and dancing at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15. Tickets cost $15, and are available by calling (706) 825-3192.

Sign classes

An eight-week, intermediate-level sign language course geared toward those with health-care training will be held on Thursdays starting March 13 at University Health Care System. For information, call (706) 774-8559.

Leah High search
