Marine Corps Pfc. Greg D. Gates , son of Christina L. Bradley, of Grovetown, and Bert C. Gates, of Grovetown, recently graduated from the Bulk Fuel Specialist Course. Gates is a 2007 graduate of Harlem High School.

Coast Guard Seaman Gary G. Johnson , son of Helen I. Strother, of Hephzibah, and Bruce Johnson, of Grovetown, recently graduated from the Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J. Johnson is a 2007 graduate of Hephzibah High School.

Dorald Scott Hartenstein was named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. He is the son of Kim and Fred Hartenstein, of Martinez, and a 2006 graduate of Evans High School.

Cadet Charles Willis Cooper III , of North Augusta, achieved Dean's List status at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, for the fall semester of the 2007-08 academic year. Cooper is the son of Charles Willis Cooper.
