Teen arrested for robbery, beating
A 14-year-old Martinez boy was arrested Saturday after he was connected to the Dec. 20 beating and robbery of a pizza delivery driver.
The teen was arrested Jan. 5 and was transported to the Columbia County Detention Center, where he was charged with robbery by force, battery, theft by taking a motor vehicle, battery, being a person under 18 in possession of a weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to jail records. He is being held in the Regional Youth Detention Center without bond, according to jail personnel.
The Domino's Pizza driver told police that at about 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 20, he was delivering a pizza to 440 Ridge Trail in Martinez when four men began hitting him, according to a sheriff's office incident report. The driver said the men stole $60 of Domino's money, $100 of his personal money and then stole his vehicle, the report stated. The driver was treated by emergency medical personnel at the scene for several lacerations to his head chest and back, the report stated.
More arrests are expected, sheriff's Capt Steve Morris said.

Man says unfinished house was intentionally flooded
A Pierwood Homes official reported Saturday someone had intentionally flooded an Evans house under construction.
The man said that during a 24-hour period on Friday and Saturday someone went into a house in Peninsula Crossing. The builder said the intruder plugged a bathtub drain and left the water running.
Man reports gym window shot at Martinez church
A man reported Sunday someone had shot a door to a Martinez church.
The man said he arrived at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4303 Wheeler Road, about 9:15 a.m. and found a window in the door to the gymnasium had six small holes in the glass. The damage appeared to have been caused by an air gun.
Burglar uses garage-door opener to break into home
A Grovetown man called police Monday to report that someone had used the garage door remote control from his car to break into his home.
The man said that during the early morning someone entered his unlocked Honda Accord in his driveway, stole money and used the remote to open the garage.
The homeowner said someone entered his Ford Expedition inside the garage and stole cash and a gun.
Antique truck stolen from Harlem man's garage
A Harlem man that someone stole his antique truck.
The man said that when he was away Friday morning, his custom 1955 Ford pickup was stolen from his garage. The truck is red with silver ghost flames on the hood and front fenders. It has a Hemi engine and a clear plexiglass truck bed.
The intruder unbolted a gate at the hinges. The truck's owner said a 153-piece Craftsman tool set and an old battery charger also were taken.
