The Augusta Baseball Umpires Association is recruiting umpires for the 2008 high school season. Umpiring experience is a plus. Classroom and field training will be provided. The next meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in the Westside High School auditorium, and meetings will be held each Sunday until the season opens. Volleyball clinic

The CSRA HEAT Volleyball Club will hold developmental clinics for girls in grades 5-11 every Sunday from today through March 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. The clinics will be held in the Boardman Gymnasium at Augusta Prep, and the cost is $160. Tennis league

The CSRA Junior Tennis League will have open registration for the Spring 2008 team tennis season from today to Jan. 15 for children ages 5-18. To register, go to www.csratennis.com. In the menu under "Juniors" and "Instructions," click on Player. Participants will need a current USTA membership valid through April 15 to register. To obtain a USTA membership, go to www.usta.com or call USTA at (800) 990-8782.

League play starts Jan. 27 and ends April 30. Matches are typically played on Sundays at 2 p.m. The regular Junior Tennis league costs $20 plus a $3 TennisLink fee. The new 8-and-under beginner 36-foot court league and the 10-and-under beginner 60-foot court league costs $10 plus a $3 Tennislink fee.
