The organization will support Marine Corps efforts in the Aiken-Augusta area, including Toys for Tots, the Wounded Warrior program and the Fisher House. Tree recycling

Shoes wanted

Coast Guard Auxiliary meets

Scholarship

A $500 scholarship is available to a Columbia County student from the Georgia Mining Association. Students who have applied to an accredited Georgia college or university may apply. WWII vets sought

The Augusta-Richmond County Historical Society is seeking veterans of World War II for videotape interviews as part of the veterans history project. Volunteers to conduct the interviews also are needed. For information, call (706) 738-8242.

Donations needed

A fund has been set up to receive donations for Mary Jefferson, of Appling, who is awaiting a kidney transplant. Donations may be made to any Wachovia bank branch to the Mary Jefferson Kidney Transplant Fund, or mailed to Wachovia Bank, 4363 Washington Road, Evans, Ga., 30809.

Alzheimer's lunch
