St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church is offering a six-week program, Catholics Returning Home, to help nonpracticing Catholics return to the church. The series begins at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8 in Meeting Room 3 at the church, 4921 Columbia Road, Grovetown.

Tree recycling

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will accept trees for recycling as fish habitat from Dec. 21 to Jan. 8 at Riverside Middle School on Furys Ferry Road in Evans. For information, call (864) 333-1159.

Absentee voting

Absentee voting in the Feb. 5 presidential preference primary will begin Friday at the Columbia County Board of Elections Office, 500 Faircloth Drive, in Evans, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Barnes & Noble Book-sellers, 1336 Augusta West Parkway, is collecting books for donation to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital through Jan. 1.
