ADK donation

During Alpha Delta Kappa month (October), the Alpha Epsilon chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa donated $100 to the Columbia County Foundation for Children. Members are initiating other projects in area schools, which include: book donations to media centers including Evans Elementary in honor of the late Bonnie Harrison's lifelong commitment to reading and education.

Leadership honor

Georgia Southern University graduate student John Stockstill , of Evans, was recently inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) Leadership Honor Society at Georgia Southern University.

Membership in ODK is the highest leadership honor awarded to undergraduate junior and senior students; graduate students; faculty, staff, administration and alumni; and people qualifying for membership "honoris causa."

Student membership candidates must rank academically in the upper 35 percent of their class, have a grade point average above 3.0, and show leadership in at least one area: scholarship; athletics; campus or community service; social and religious activities and campus government; journalism, speech and the mass media; and creative and performing arts.
