Local athletes earn postseason accolades

The Georgia Independent Schools Association has announced its soccer postseason awards for the 2007 season.

Augusta Prep senior Madison Harte and sophomore Alex Levy were named to the Class AAA All-State Team. Senior Josh Segura and freshman John Paul Lynn joined Harte and Levy on the GISA Class AAA North All-Region Team.

In football, the South Carolina Independent Schools Association released some of its postseason awards. Augusta Christian's William Banks, Zach Cooper, Tyler Bourdo, Jay Harmon, Jonathan Gibbs and Travis Cerasuolo were named to the Region 1-AAA first team.

Evan Wells, J.C. Saul, Zach Herzwurm, Corey Critell, Steven Bloedel, Orrealus Harris, Cameron Hoover, Cole Turner and Micah Herriman were named to the Region 1-AAA second team.
