Parade planned

Monday is the deadline for entries for the annual Merchants Association of Columbia County Martinez-Evans Christmas Parade, to begin at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 on Ronald Reagan Drive, in Evans. Entry forms are available at the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, at Master Pontiac GMC and at Kelley Appliance on Baston Road. Trees available

The men of Martinez United Methodist Church, at 3614 Washington Road, are selling Christmas trees to benefit missions groups and area charities. Trees are available from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays, and from noon to 9 p.m. Sundays while they last. For information, call (706) 863-6541.

Grand opening

The 10th District office of U.S. Rep. Paul Broun at 4246 Washington Road, Suite 6, Evans, will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday. Call (706) 447-3857.

Art After Dark

The Artists' Guild of Columbia County's second annual Art After Dark reception will be held 7-10 p.m. Friday at the Columbia County Library. Tickets cost $10 and are available at the office of The Columbia County News-Times . For information, go to www.artistguildCC.org.

Fly-fishing club

The CSRA Fly Fishers flyfishing club will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at River Island Club House off Blackstone Camp Road in Evans. Book drive
