The Harlem City Council meeting normally held on the third Monday of the month has been rescheduled. A work session will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at city hall, with a meeting to follow.
Book signing
Christian author and News-Times correspondent Patty Wachold will sign her inspirational book, My Courage Book , from 1-3 p.m. Nov. 24 at Borders Books and Music, 257 Robert C. Daniel Parkway, in Augusta.
WWII vets sought
The Augusta-Richmond County Historical Society is seeking veterans of World War II for videotape interviews as part of the Veterans History Project. Volunteers to conduct the interviews also are needed. For information, call (706) 738-8242.
Boating course
A boating safety course will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at Martinez-Columbia Fire Rescue Headquarters, 3910 Desoto Drive, in Martinez. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary course satisfies Georgia and South Carolina mandatory boating education requirements. Tuition costs $35 for individuals, $50 for families. The Harlem Woman's Club is seeking nominations for its 2007 Citizen of the Year Award. Nomination forms are available at the city administrative offices and City Hall. The deadline is Nov. 30.
