The memorial gardens behind the Columbia County Library will take on a carnival atmosphere Saturday.
//
The library will host a free fall Carnival for Kids, with traditional midway games beginning at 10 a.m.
The two-hour carnival will feature bean-bag and ring-toss games, fishing games, face painting and a visit by Herbie the Clown, said Children's Librarian Pam Link.
"(The carnival) is just a chance for families to come out and visit the library if they haven't visited the library before," she said. The carnival will help introduce the library to those who were unaware of its many amenities, such as the playground, gardens and the walking trails, she said.
The fall carnival is the second library carnival this year, following a successful event this past spring, Link said. About 300 children and adults attended the previous event, she said.
Children will receive a goody bag containing a toy and coloring book while supplies last. Refreshments will also be made available.
