No one can deny that history finds a way to repeat itself. I agree with Dennis Jones' Oct. 28 column, "Real 'war of the worlds' still a threat." I believe Jones to be of noble character, but I wish people would stop paralleling Adolf Hitler with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad 99.9 percent of the time in the media.
But that's their right! First Amendement rules! Hoorah!
I would like to dig a little deeper and drop a lantern down. As I skim the dirt with my shovel, a homophobic manuscript appears. It's a Semitic book calld Leviticus, located in the Torah. The Torah, or Pentateuch, is the first five books of the Bible. It predates Hitler by almost 2,500 years. Leviticus 20:13 states that, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death, their blood shall be upon them."
As I ascend out of the abyss of time, I come across a "pre-Holocaust" holocaust, known as the Inquisition. This atrocity was committed by the Roman Catholic Church. Ascending even further, the Lenin-Stalin (both Jewish) era was responsible for killing more than 30 million people. They won that tag-team against Hitler's 6 million.
I end my excavation with this: If Der Fuehrer would have come to Georgia, he would have chewed on a piece of pork fatback with a redneck. Ahmadinejad would be hanging from a tree. Seig Heil!
