The Harlem Woman's Club is seeking nominations for its 2007 Citizen of the Year Award. Nomination forms are available at the city administrative offices and city hall. The deadline is Nov. 30. Call Jean Dove at (706) 556-0043.

Tax helpers

The Augusta-area AARP Tax-Aide program is seeking volunteers with computer experience to help low- to medium-income residents with income taxes. A free 10-day training course for volunteers will begin Dec. 10. District Coordinator Bill Kozel will be at the Columbia County Library from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Nov. 13 to explain the program. Call (706) 210-3048.

Chamber event

Denise Ryan will be the guest speaker at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Connection luncheon at the Belair Conference Center. The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Success Columbia County Style networking event will be held from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 12 at Red Oak Manor in Harlem, and will include a vendor fair.
