Cut for Cure

Retreat Day Spa, at 4246 Washington Road in Evans, will celebrate its first anniversary by holding Cut for a Cure from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. The spa will offer free haircuts, nail services, waxing and chair massages with donations accepted for the American Cancer Society. For information, call (706) 364-8292.

Parade planned

Entries are being sought for the annual Merchants Association of Columbia County Martinez-Evans Christmas Parade, to begin at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 on Ronald Reagan Drive, in Evans. Entry forms are available at the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, at Master Pontiac GMC and at Kelley Appliance on Baston Road. Cancer event

University Hospital will hold a cancer education event, "Don't Let Breast Cancer Spook You," with oncologist and histologist Dr. Silvana Bucur from 5:30-7 p.m. Oct. 30 at Savannah Rapids Pavilion. The event is free. Dinner will be served, and reservations are required by calling (706) 828-2502.

Donations wanted

A fund has been set up to receive donations for Mary Jefferson, of Appling, who is awaiting a kidney transplant. Donations may be made to any Wachovia bank branch to the Mary Jefferson Kidney Transplant Fund, or mailed to Wachovia Bank, 4363 Washington Road, Evans, Ga., 30809.

Concert reset

The Groove Masters will perform in the weather-postponed finale of the Sunset Music Series at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Columbia County Amphitheater. For information, call (706) 312-7194, or go to www. columbiacountyga.gov.

Legion supper

The Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 192 will hold a spaghetti supper, from 5 p.m. until all the food is gone, Nov. 7 at the post, on Legion Drive off Owens Road, in Evans.
