Oct. 12 marked the end of the first nine weeks of school for Columbia County students. They will be bringing home their report cards on Monday.
I want to take a moment to thank everyone involved for making this such a successful start to the school year. As we grow in size our challenges increase, and from my perspective our staff has done a remarkable job.
Because this year also marks a new beginning for our school system, I thought it would be a good time for the citizens to give us a report card. I am looking for constructive feedback from parents, teachers, other employees, students and anyone from the community with an interest in educating our future leaders. What are we doing right? Where can we improve? What isn't working very well? Are there new programs that you would like us to research and possibly implement?
Please send your comments to me via any of the following venues: E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org; phone: (706) 863-3579; snail mail: 4781 Hereford Farm Road, Evans, Ga. 30809.
Your input at this time will be valuable as our board prepares for our planning retreat on Nov. 3. I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
