Businesses wanted

Businesses are being sought to give away candy at Columbia County's Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat Halloween celebration, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Patriots Park Gym. Children are invited to bring canned food donations and trick or treat inside the gym. The only cost to businesses is to provide candy. Food donations benefit local food banks. Call (706) 312-7193.

Byrd anniversary

The Byrd Family Gospel Singers will celebrate their 49th anniversary with a program at 10 a.m. today at Bible Fellowship Church meeting at the Belair Conference Center, followed by dinner on the grounds with Sconyers barbecue. Call (706) 651-1971.

Pastor service

Mount Enon Baptist Church, at 4678 Washington Road in Evans, will hold its eighth annual Pastor's Appreciation Service at 2:30 p.m. today, with the Rev. Ernest Turner, of Simonia Baptist Church, conducting services. Call (706) 860-8565.

Passover seminar

Murray Tilles, of Light of Messiah Ministries in Atlanta, will present a program, Jesus in the Passover, at 6:30 p.m. today at Mosaic United Methodist Church, 578 Columbia Industrial Blvd. in Evans. Fair entries

Tuesday is the deadline for youth entries in the Columbia County Fall Fair, with the Columbia County Extension Service offering more than $2,000 in prize money. Items must be entered Tuesday from 1:30-6:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
