Air Force Airman 1st Class Joseph F. Shiver has graduated from the Weather Forecaster Apprentice Course at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss. He is the son of Joe and Jodie L. Shiver, of Grovetown, and is a 2003 graduate of Harlem High School.

Navy Seaman Jeffrey L. Stevenson, a 2007 graduate of Evans High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Army Spec. Siriwan E. Mobley has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. She is the daughter of Ada Hampton, of Evans, and received a bachelor's degree in 2004 from Augusta State University.

Damian T. Franz has entered Basic Cadet Training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy. He is the son of Victoria Franz, of Evans, and a 2007 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

William D. Eastman has entered Basic Cadet Training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy. Eastman, a 2006 graduate of Evans High School, is the son of David and DeVona Eastman, of Martinez.

Navy Seaman Bryce J. Taylor, son of Gay C. and Jon Taylor, of Evans, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Taylor is a 2004 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

Army Reserve Pvt. Timothy J. Holland has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Holland is the son of Roger Holland, of Martinez. He graduated from a home-school program in 2004.
