Tennis tournament
The 2007 Chamber Challenge Tennis Tournament will be held Oct. 11-14 at the Petersburg Racquet Club in Martinez. Divisions are men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles from 3.0 through open divisions. There will also be a "hackers" division for novice level players (2.5 and below). Cost is $30 for the first event and $15 for a second event or the hacker division. Club volleyball
The 2007-08 organizational meeting for the CSRA HEAT Volleyball Club will be held Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Boardman Gym at Augusta Prep. Girls in grades 6-12 and their parents are urged to attend. There is a $50 registration and tryout fee, and tryouts will follow the first two Sundays in November. The Georgia Rockers 18U "A" travel team is looking for dedicated girls interested in playing a competitive 18 A schedule, ASA Qualifiers and 3-4 College Exposure tournaments. Soccer challenge
The Knights of Columbus Council No. 8495 Soccer Challenge will be held Oct. 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Patriots Park. It's open to all boys and girls ages 10-14. Participants will take 15 goal kicks for points. No cost to participate, and registration is on-site beginning at 5:45 p.m.
