'Bugz!' musical

The second-grade pupils at Brookwood Elementary will present Bugz! at 2 and 7 p.m. Tuesday at the school.

Christmas help

The Salvation Army will take applications in person for Christmas assistance from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 1-5 at the office at 1384 Greene St., Augusta. Applicants should not bring children and must provide a photo ID for all adults in the household, a Social Security card and proof of birth for all family members and proof of income and expenses.

Pet fair

Columbia County's Animania Pet Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct 27 at the Columbia County Memorial Gardens and Amphitheater. For information, call (706) 312-7194.

School carnival

Rock dig

The annual rock swap and dig at Graves Mountain will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 5-7. Admission is free. Graves Mountain, a former mine known for rare and valuable minerals, is located on U.S. Highway 378 between Lincolnton and Washington, Ga. For information, call (706) 359-3862.
