Harry Potter talk

A discussion of the Christian themes in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be held at 4 p.m. Sept. 23 at the office of Church of the Holy Comforter, 1105 Furys Lane, across from Publix. The discussion will be led by the Rev. Cynthia Taylor. For information, call (706) 210-1133.

Bible study

Contestants sought

Contestants are being sought for the 2007 Miss Columbia County Fair Scholarship Pageant, to be held Sept. 29. Sponsored by the Columbia County Merchants Association, the pageant is open to single women ages 17-24, with judging in interview, swimsuit and evening gown competition. Gallery reception
